 Today we did not go to Mr.Reases class because of a lockdown.

 Today, Mr.Reases class was shorter due to pictures so we just presented our one pager assignments. I went second and I think I did a pretty good job, though I heard Mr.Rease tried to come after one of my pictures. It was actually kinda fun to present the assignment as talking about something you know is fun.

 In Mr.Reases class today, we took some notes on cultural elements. It broke culture down into 7 different categories: Social organizations, customs and traditions, language, Arts and literature, religion,forms of government, and economic systems. After taking some notes and having a discussion, we continued reading "Fences". I was given the role of Cory who wasn't in the story for too long but it was still a nice experience. We had fun reading the story like we always do.

 I do not know much about Latino culture. I do know that spanish is the main language, there are many legends and myths, and that there are many different popular foods, there are also many different rituals in normal family life like weddings. I want to know about how they view family roles and the main languages besides Spanish.

 I was not in Mr.Reases class today because I was on a band trip.

 Today in Mr.Reases class, we took a pop quiz on characterization. I got all of the multiple choice questions correct which I am proud of. I believe I did well on the characterization of Rose from "Fences". That was the last question on the quiz. Afterwards, we continued reading and had fun as you would expect. We got to see interaction between Cory and Troy and see more of Troy's character and a little bit of Rose. I felt bad for Cory after the scene because of the way Troy talks to him. 

 Today in Mr.Reases class, we did a characterization chart on Troy from "Fences". The chart wasn't too difficult and I understood the concept. Afterwards we continued to read "Fences". As usual, we had fun reading the story and we were introduced to a character named Gabriel who interests me because of his personality.

 Today in Mr.Reases class we continued reading "Fences". Just like yesterday, it was extremely fun and halrious to read together. Everybody played their respective parts well. After reading we answered some questions, a few of which were about Lyons who in relation to one of the questions, I think is not a man because he is not a provider, irresponsible, and he is lazy.

 Today in Mr.Rease class, we read a small portion of a play called Fences. The reading was very entertaining. Mr.Rease and Elijah did very well playing their characters.  Mindy also did a great job as the narrator and I had fun reading along. I am excited to continue reading tomorrow.

 Today Mr.Rease was not here and we were given a worksheet in The Rockpile. The sheet wasn't too hard but I just barely finished in time.

Today Mr.Rease was not here so I just chilled in class.

 Today in Mr.Reases class, we took a pop quiz together as a class. We were given a minute and a half to complete each question before going over the answer all together. We used a strategy where we eliminated 2 completely incorrect answers leaving us with a 50/50 chance. For me, it worked a good amount of the time. However, I still missed 4 of the 14 sadly but thankfully Mr.Rease have us all a 100. 

 Today in Mr.Rease's class we did a bellringer where we finished the story called "The Rockpile". It was fun to end the story and it can be seen in my previous blog. After some people read their responses, we were given an assignment on the story. It is basically a cover with pictures and color with different elements of the story like quotes and your personal connection. I suck at drawing though so it is not going to be easy.

 With his toe to the head of his fathers heavy shoe, John recieved a swift kick to the face. Greg snapped and couldn't take the silence anymore. John violently jerked backwards before collapsing, grasping his eye in pain. Without even giving him a chance to recuperate, Greg stood up and began to stomp on John. "Damnit boy you had one job, take care your little brother!" "OH MY BABY, MY SWEET SWEET BABY!" Elizabeth loudly sobbed while witnessing the stomp out. She the quickly ran to the room with Delilah in hand. Just then, Roy, who became overwhelmed with guilt, pushed his father off of John, who had become bruised and was bleeding from his head. "Whats the meaning of this boy, ain't it right to give this one here a little scar too?" Greg asked Roy. All the kids beside the poor beating up John held back their father from his rage."DAMNIT! GET TYE HELL OFF ME YOU LITTLE BAST**D!" Greg angrily shouted at the kids. "IM GONNA GET THE IRR

 Today in Mr.Rease's class, we read a story called "The Rockpile". This is a story about a group of kids who live in a bad neighborhood, with a trademark eyesore known as the rockpile. The story was very interesting and I loved the way that Mr.Rease read the ending of the story when the father finally came home. I do not, however, like the way that the story was ended. It felt like a cliff hanger and I wanted to see how the interaction between the kids, Mother, and Father ended. 

 My neighborhood is your average neighborhood. Nothing about it really stands out besides the gazebo when you first enter the main part of the hood. The neighborhood is a good one but some of the kids there are ghetto and smoke. My parents allow me to go outside and play with the other people in the hood. We usually like to play basketball and football. 

 Today in Mr.Rease's class, we read a short story called ambush. I liked the story and the concept of a frame story. The story is about a veteran who is asked by his 9 year old daughter if he had killed someone before because he is always writing war stories. He tells her no due to her age but them tells a detailed story about how he killed an enemy with a grenade during watch duty and the mental struggle he felt while doing so. The story was very interesting and I hope we read more like it later in the year.

One way a veteran might have had a past experience that influenced their current life is seeing the Frontlines of war. A veteran may have experienced trauma like seeing and hearing many explosions. This may cause a veteran to have "dramatic " reactions to simple things in the house like a thud from something falling or something popping. If you are  with someone like your kid ans the pop a Ballon, they may shout and react crazy due to their experience with sudden loud noises.

 Today in Mr.Rease's class we continued our test from yesterday. I finished up the part that I didn't complete yesterday. However I did have to rush through the essay because I ran out of time. I feel that I could have done much better in the essay if I had more time.

 Today in Mr.Rease's class we took a benchmark. The passages on the test were very long so I skimmed until I found information important to the question. I was unable to finish the first section today but I can finish it tomorrow. 

Today in Mr.Rease's class I finished doing a test that I had to make up due to the fact I had to leave for a band performance on the pervious Friday. I think I did decent on the test overall. I just hope I interpreted the poem right so that I gave a proper correct answer.

 Today in Mr.Reases class we did a review of a poem quote assignment and let us know we only has to do 10 of the 20 which was a big relief. He gave an example of it too which helped alot. After that we took a test on Emily Dickson and her poems. I didn't finish because band had to leave early for the football game practice(we won the game as well) but I think that what I got done was pretty good.

 Today we didn't go to Mr.Reases class. I had a good day, it was very fun to stay in 3rd for a ver extended amount of time.
